Mary Etezady appointed Advisor
Dear Friend:
I am pleased to share with you that Mary Etezady is appointed to serve Advisor
to CAMC, effective immediately.
Mary Etezady is president of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania. She
is a sociologist with a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. With a
specialty in medical sociology and intervention systems, she has worked with a
variety of nonprofit groups, particularly in the areas of mental health and
education with an emphasis on program development and evaluation.
Mary has been an active member of the League of Women Voters since 1993. In
1996, she was appointed to the State Board of the League as Director for
Social Issues, focusing particularly on family and juvenile justice issues.
From May 1996 to May 1997, she served as project director for the League's
Campaign Integrity Project, a statewide initiative to address campaign reform
in Pennsylvania by bringing together the major players in the political process
to examine Pennsylvania's campaign process and explore recommendations for
future reforms. On May 11, 1997, Dr. Etezady was elected to be the 24th
President of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania at the group's
biennial convention.
The League's priorities for the new millennium focus heavily on revitalizing
civic participation including re-connecting citizens with their communities
and the political process, and developing new options to open lines of
communication between elected officials and constituents via public forums and
online venues.
